The "Barn Center" will accommodate one hundred guests for meetings, banquets, overnight stays or receptions with full kitchen
facilities, as well as antique shows, art and music exhibitions. An elevator services all three levels to provide disable access.
Goals:
The barn will be built at the "Grosmutter" complex of log buildings, adjacent to the sixty-foot windmill. We have included
a photograph of the model so you can visualize the scope of this project. The future goal is to have many teaching venues;
i.e., workshops, exhibits, antique/art shows and concerts.
Financing:
The Luxenhaus Farm German Heritage Foundation (a 501-C-3 nonprofit organization Federal and State tax deductible) is the farm
and event administrator, with many new and different venues to follow in the future. The Foundation is seeking personal and
corporate gifts and volunteers to assist with additional fund-raising necessary to bring this vision to completion.
Projections:
Through the gifting of the Hostkoetter Family, the Luxenhaus Farm German Heritage Foundation, the University of Missouri-St. Louis,
projects a teaching facility enabling
year-round access for an educational, hands-on working farm during the homesteading period of German America.
